The establishment of this center has been made possible through the Behavioral Health Continuum Infrastructure Program (BHCIP) championed by Governor Gavin Newsom and the California Department of Health Care Services. The program’s pivotal role in funding the acquisition and renovation of the center underscores a profound commitment to enhancing behavioral health care infrastructure in Sonoma County and throughout the state of California.

Center Point DAAC extends its deepest gratitude to McDevitt Construction for their excellence in completing the facility, and to the invaluable support received from Senator Mike McGuire, Representative Mike Thompson, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors, and the County of Sonoma Department of Health Services. This collaborative effort exemplifies the power of unity in addressing critical public health challenges. We could not have completed this project without the support of the Board of Directors of Center Point Inc., and Center Point DAAC, to which we are incredibly grateful.

Unique in its offering, the Dr. Sushma D. Taylor Recovery Center is the only residential substance use disorder treatment facility for low/no income men in Sonoma County and the sole provider of medically supported withdrawal management services for Partnership Health Plan recipients in Northern California. Its opening is a beacon of hope for many, signaling a forward momentum in accessible, compassionate care for individuals grappling with substance use disorders.

The center honors the legacy of Dr. Sushma D. Taylor, whose lifelong dedication to the field of recovery has significantly impacted policies and practices both domestically and internationally. Naming the facility after Dr. Taylor celebrates her decades of relentless advocacy and contribution to the community.

Together, let’s celebrate this milestone in our ongoing journey towards recovery, resilience, and wellness in Sonoma County and beyond. For more information on the dedication ceremony, sponsorship opportunities, or invitations email dedicationevent@daacmail.org.
