Puzzle that says grant funding

Center Point DAAC is excited to announce that we have been awarded an additional $750,000 grant by the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) through the California Hub and Spoke System (CA H&SS) program. This funding represents a critical step forward in our ongoing mission to combat the opioid epidemic in Sonoma County. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to DHCS for their continued partnership and confidence in our ability to make a meaningful impact, and to Advocates for Human Potential, Inc. (AHP) for their instrumental role in administration of this important initiative.

This latest grant builds on the momentum of the previous funding we received last month and underscores Center Point DAAC’s commitment to bringing innovative solutions to the challenges our community faces. As Regional Vice President Michael O’Brien, CADC II, NCAC I, stated, “Our team has been working hard to bring grant funds to our community to solve problems that would have otherwise not been funded. This is a significant boost to our efforts to help our community.”

Expanding Access with the Mobile Care Clinic

A key focus of this grant is to support the staffing of our new Mobile Care Clinic, which we plan to launch in March 2025. The Mobile Care Clinic, funded in part by another recent grant, will feature a fully equipped medical clinic on wheels, capable of delivering substance use and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) services to underserved areas of Sonoma County.

The Mobile Care Clinic will be the first of its kind in the county’s history and is designed to break down barriers to care by:

  • Providing services in areas where no such resources currently exist.

  • Enabling individuals without transportation to access life-saving treatment.

  • Participating in public and cultural events, fairs, and other gatherings where people can connect with these essential services.

This innovative approach ensures that individuals across Sonoma County will have access to the care they need, no matter their location or circumstances.

This milestone reflects not only the trust placed in our organization but also our proactive efforts to secure resources that would have otherwise gone to other communities. It is a proud moment for Center Point DAAC and a testament to our team’s dedication to addressing the opioid crisis head-on.

Gratitude and Collaboration

We are deeply grateful to DHCS for recognizing the importance of expanding access to opioid treatment services in Sonoma County and for their steadfast support. We also thank AHP for their guidance and advocacy, which have been vital in securing these funds and advancing our mission.

This grant represents more than just financial support; it is a vote of confidence in our ability to bring transformative solutions to our community. With the upcoming launch of the Mobile Care Clinic, we are poised to make a significant and lasting impact in the fight to save lives and end the opioid epidemic.

Stay tuned for updates as we prepare to roll out the Mobile Care Clinic and continue our work to make Sonoma County a healthier, more resilient community. Together, we can overcome the challenges of the opioid crisis and ensure that everyone has access to the care they deserve.
