Intensive Outpatient Services (IOP)

Adults in group therapy

We accept Partnership Health Plan of California (Medi-Cal) and offer affordable private-pay rates for our Intensive Outpatient Services (IOP). Intensive Outpatient substance abuse services refer to a type of treatment and support provided to individuals who are struggling with drug or alcohol abuse but do not require 24-hour residential care. These services are designed to help individuals overcome substance abuse issues while allowing them to continue living at home, attending work or school, and maintaining their daily responsibilities.

INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM IS FREE FOR

SONOMA COUNTY PARTNERSHIP & MEDI-CAL MEMBERS.

Intensive outpatient allows clients to live at home and go to work or school during the day but with a higher level of support and intensity. The IOP schedule is three hours of group counseling, three days per week, with one hour of individual counseling. Additional hours may be added for couples counseling, family counseling, medication-assisted treatment, mental health therapy, or psychiatric services. Center Point DAAC currently offers IOP on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights from 6 PM to 9 PM and a daytime program on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 10 AM to 1 PM. We plan to add a weekend schedule in the coming months. Separate daytime IOP services are available for pregnant women, or mothers with newborn children in our Perinatal Program.

What is Intensive Outpatient?

Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) offers a structured and supportive environment for individuals seeking recovery from substance abuse. Clients in our program participate in a range of therapeutic activities designed to promote healing, personal growth, and long-term sobriety.

During treatment, clients engage in group therapy sessions that foster peer support, as well as individual counseling to address personal challenges and underlying issues related to addiction. The program emphasizes building essential life skills such as coping strategies, stress management, and relapse prevention techniques. Clients also explore topics like emotional regulation, healthy communication, and relationship building to enhance their overall well-being.

In addition to therapy, participants will receive education on substance use disorders, developing a deeper understanding of addiction and recovery. Our holistic approach integrates mindfulness practices, goal setting, and personal accountability, empowering clients to take charge of their recovery journey.

The program is designed to offer flexibility, allowing clients to maintain work, school, or family commitments while receiving the care they need. With a focus on recovery and skill-building, our IOP provides a pathway to lasting sobriety and a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Dual-Diagnosis Support

Our Intensive Outpatient Program also provides dual diagnosis support for individuals facing both substance use and mental health challenges. Licensed therapists offer individual therapy tailored to address co-occurring disorders, ensuring that clients receive comprehensive care for both addiction and mental health conditions. In addition to therapy, we offer mental health medication management, helping clients stabilize and manage symptoms with the support of experienced professionals. Clients also participate in therapy groups focused on mental health topics, creating a supportive environment to explore and address issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and more, alongside their addiction recovery journey.
